MATC student finds the positives in negatives

Dennis Sabourin, a student at MATC in the Electricity Program, was incarcerated a few times for mistakes that he made in his past. At twenty six years old he has realized that righting wrongs is important. "One thing my mother said to me and it stuck with me, was that, ‘If you search good enough you will always find that positive in any negative, no matter the magnitude of it,'" Dennis said smiling.

New Associate Degree and Certificates offered

MATC offers three new certificate programs. One of them, Sustainable Operations Certificate Program, is already in the MATC Catalog (page 162). All of them are 100 level courses. The others, Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate and The Lean Certificate Program, will be published in the 2012-13 MATC Catalog.

Job fair held at Oak Creek campus

On Thursday, December 1, the South Suburban Chamber of Commerce paired with the Oak Creek campus to hold the job fair for the Fall 2011 semester. The event was held from noon to 5 p.m., beginning exclusively for current students and alumni from noon-2 p.m., then opening to the general public for the final three hours from 2-5 p.m..
