Financial assistance programs available for students who need it

Hannah Picchiottino, a health care advocate from Community Advocates, Inc. is working with the MATC Student Life Department to help students obtain BadgerCare Plus health insurance and FoodShare. BadgerCare Plus provides access to health insurance for children, their families and pregnant women. (1) comment

The Wisconsin Technical College Systems Board approved a $6.9 million project between MATC and Johnson Controls to build a solar education farm on the college's property at the Milwaukee Public Television transmitter located at Capitol Drive and Humbolt Boulevard. (0) comments

There is an interesting mix of sound and color when one enters the Nailtech lab located on the first floor of the Main Building, Downtown Milwaukee Campus. Judy Brown operates as instructor in lab room M108, teaching her group to properly buff, shape and sculpt exquisite nails. (0) comments

What time do I have to get up to be in line? Roundy's annual food festival  delivers positive results

Recently, a group of students worked together with Roundy's Foods and the Hunger Task Force to distribute food to underprivileged people at the annual Roundy's Food Festival. This event, which takes place twice a year during the spring and fall, drew local media attention and allowed citizens to display their generosity toward the needy. (1) comment

Student leadership training

At a recent Leadership Training event held by Student Life, students were offered a chance to learn as a team and to challenge themselves. The Ropes event had two challenges. The Low Ropes is where students had to work together as a team to solve problems. (0) comments
