CSI Milwaukee show true-to-life crime scenes for Criminal Justice majors and general public alike

You walk into a room, and things seem normal until you notice the dead body lying on the floor. There are clues all around you, but you can't seem to figure out if somebody committed murder or suicide. Sounds like a page right from a horror story, right? Actually, this was the scene when people walked into the room at Discovery World for CSI: Milwaukee. (1) comment

The STEM conference had illuminated light bulbs above the heads of the students in attendance. MATC sponsored the conference STEM. Stem is short for System Now, which is an organization that highlights careers in science, technology, engineering and math. (0) comments

Emmy nomination in any genre, whether global or local, is a tremendous achievement and compliment for anybody. Students Ethan Lighter, Dwight Morgan, Thomas Sernholz, James Magee, Daniel Turner, John Neighbors, Kyle Schwerr, who are producers, achieved this high esteem. (2) comments

Phyllis Bennis recently spoke to a group of students, including two Economics classes, and faculty about stopping the war in Afghanistan. She said the war was unnecessary because the Afghan government had nothing to do with the 9-11 attacks. Bennis cited polls to show that a majority of Americans were against the war in Afghanistan. With the holidays approaching, it is good to know that there is a non-profit organization called Share which offers good, healthy food at low prices to everyone. World-renowned photographer John Dominis gave a speech to MATC students on October 29. Dominis has covered many historical events, including the Korean War, the beginning of the Vietnam War, Woodstock, the firing of General Douglas MacArthur and John F. Kennedy's "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech for LIFE magazine. (0) comments

Counseling:  So much more than course decisions

Student populations have converged on the campuses in larger numbers during this recession. According to Mequon counselor Julie Klug, many of these students have been out of the college environment for quite awhile and may be sitting right next to you in class. (0) comments

The Phoenix, an MATC-based creative writing and photography publication, has experienced national recognition and prominence in the past few years. The magazine, which is filled with pages of art and writing, started in 1969 and has developed into a legitimate place where current and former students, as well as faculty and staff, can express their writing and visual art skills. Free Echocardiograms (Echo) are offered to students, faculty, administration and staff this semester. According to Jennifer Yaeger, Echocardiography student, an Echo uses sound waves to capture images of the "internal structure and functions of your heart, valves, ventricles and the atria.
